Energy Technology Centre (ETC) is a not-for-profit research organisation that provides both research work and professional services to the academia, public agencies, and industry. Focus area of research for ETC is thermo-chemical conversion of biomass and provided services are related to applications in combustion, gasification, and bio-refining processes. The site is located right next to Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner mill in Piteå, Sweden. The main ETC competences and capabilities can be summarised to cover:

  • Pretreatment and feeding of biomass;
  • Sampling and diagnostics in conversion processes;
  • Process modelling;
  • Analyses for conversion products;
  • Spray characterisation;
  • and Upgrading of syngas.
