About the employer

The Archives School Marburg is the main centre for the training and continued education of archivists in Germany. For more than sixty years, this is where archivists have been trained for the various different echelons of the civil service.  Since the beginning of the 1990’s, we have also provided courses of continuing education and held symposia and conferences at regular intervals.

The Archives School Marburg is funded by the state of Hessen in line with Section 26 Hessische Haushaltsordnung [the budgetary code of the state of Hessen].  Apart from this basic state funding, the Archives School Marburg is financed from the fees it charges to cover the costs of the training courses on offer.
