About the employer

Institut Fresnel was created in 2000 on the Etoile campus (north of Marseille), to create synergies and join forces in the fields of photonics, electromagnetism and also signal and image processing.

Institut Fresnel is a research institute operating under authority of Aix-Marseille Université, CNRS and Centrale Marseille and the members of Institut Fresnel have given substance to this project. Nowadays, Fresnel’s team has one hundred and seventy-five people among whom eighty-three full-time personnel work in Institut Fresnel and we manage a budget of about 12.6 million euros.

We carry out research on four themes: electromagnetism and metamaterials, nanophotonics and optical components, data processing and random waves and, finally, advanced and living imaging.
Our two strong lines of research can be identified around the notion s of image and optical components.
Please have a look at our website to find out more about the work of the researchers of Institut Fresnel.
