Faculty and students at Ashesi are engaged in discipline-based research individually, or in teams or clusters. Our research work is largely defined on a current university-wide research theme – Future Cities – and on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

Our research approach allows faculty, researchers, and students to engage in knowledge creation across technology, sustainability, and economic and social innovation to create resilient and liveable cities.

Through partnerships with industry, government, and international institutions, Ashesi’s research is helping to shape the cities of tomorrow—and identifying tools and resources to educate the students who will live in, work in, and lead them.

Ashesi's Campus

A 60-minute drive from the Kotoka International Airport, our campus combines traditional design, modern technology, and environmental best practices to create an inspiring base for young leaders from across Africa to convene and collaborate.

Most class sizes at Ashesi are small, and our classrooms and labs are mostly flexible spaces for different kinds of in-class activities. Our labs and workshops also feature tools and equipment, from 3D printers to laser cutters, to support advanced hands-on learning, research, and innovation.
