Your Responsibilities
This postdoctoral position offers the opportunity to drive forward research at the interface of microfluidics and molecular biosciences. A main focus will be on the design, development, and application of high-throughput microfluidic systems for cutting-edge use in life sciences and biomedical research.
- Advancing high-throughput biochemical and microbiological screening methods, microfluidic diagnostic assays, and single-molecule microfluidic approaches
- Conducting both independent and collaborative research, with the opportunity to develop and advance a distinct research profile in biomicrofluidics
- Contributing to the conceptual design and technical realization of novel microfluidic methods and assays in close collaboration with students, interdisciplinary partners, and institutional collaborators
- Participation in the acquisition of third-party funding, publishing in international journals, and presenting at scientific conferences
- Developing and teaching courses in Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, supervising students, supporting administrative tasks, and participating in university governance and institute-level organizational activities
Your Profile
- Applicants must hold a completed PhD in Natural Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related field and demonstrate strong expertise in biomicrofluidics.
- Strong practical skills and hands-on experience with high-throughput droplet-based microfluidic systems, including droplet sorting, picoinjection, and high-throughput functional screening
- Experience in microfluidic device design and chip fabrication methods, as well as fluorescence microscopy, image analysis, cell culture and microbiology
- A strong academic track record with first-author publications
- Excellent English skills
- Programming and data analysis skills (e.g., Python) (desirable)
- Ability to independently design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively
- A research-driven mindset and strong interest in working at the interface of physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering
- Collaborative, interdisciplinary working style

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
