About Our Department: Hebrew University’s Department of Genetics lies at the frontier of genetic research, genetic engineering technologies and systems biology. Our department encompasses 20 research groups working in diverse fields and research systems.

About Our Research: At the Rabani Lab at the Hebrew University, we research RNA biology, using tools from both computational and experimental genomics. We aim to uncover general principles of post-transcriptional RNA regulation in biological systems, by investigating these questions in the context of cell-state transition and animal development.

Job Description: We are looking to recruit highly talented and motivated students for fully funded Postdoc positions.

As a Postdoc fellow  in our lab, you’ll be engaged in cutting-edge research in a range of topics, including: 

  • RNA biology
  • Advanced genomic technologies
  • Bio-imaging
  • Model organisms
  • Genomic big-data analysis
  • Computational modeling 

About the Supervisor: Dr. Michal Rabani is a world-leading expert in machine learning and genomic big-data analysis, RNA biology and the zebrafish model organism, with hands-on experience in both experimental and computational biology.

Funding: A monthly stipend, ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 NIS.

Your Profile: We offer interdisciplinary scientific training, and encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, including biological, computational, and related fields to apply. To excel in this role, we seek candidates with:

  • PhD degree in biology and/or related fields – required
  • Excellent English skills– required
  • Experience with molecular laboratory work (e.g., RNA-Seq, PCR) – advantage
  • Experience with bio-imaging (e.g., confocal microscopy, fluorescent imaging) – advantage
  • Programming experience in MATLAB/python/R – advantage 
  • Experience with zebrafish work – advantage
