At the Clinical Epidemiology Division, one of our seven research groups work with clinical epidemiological research on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other chronic inflammatory diseases, in close collaboration with translational and clinical researchers. Our work focuses on the aetiology of chronic inflammatory joint diseases such as RA, and personalized approaches to its management. We use a combination of register-, clinical, genetic, serological and lifestyle data, and advanced computational models. We are now recruiting 1-2 postdocs to our team to work with patient stratification and prediction models of clinical outcomes in RA, using various types of data.
The candidate/-s will work within our projects focusing on developing models for precision medicine in RA. The candidate will use our existing data collections, including genetic and proteomic data, and apply techniques such as machine learning and advanced statistical modelling, with the aim to improve disease outcomes in RA.
A background in, and previous experience with, computationally intense methods such as computationally intense statistical methods, machine learning and deep learning, through applications during a PhD or MSc is a requirement, so is previous work experience with real-world data and medical or biological data. The candidate must be proficient in programming languages such as R, SAS and/or Python and preferably has experience of parallelization using GPU:s. Experience of analysis in a Linux server environment is considered a strong merit. Hands-on experience of (individual level) genetic data and/or proteomic data is considered a strong merit, so is experience of epidemiological studies. Previous work with rheumatological diseases or other chronic inflammatory diseases is a strong merit. The successful candidate enjoys working in an interdisciplinary team, is thorough and organized, and structures and documents well. Within the department and KI, you will be interacting also with clinical and translational RA researchers.
