We are looking to fill the following position in Faculty 2: Computer Science and Engineering beginning by April 01, 2025:

Are you passionate about efficient computer architectures and the development of sustainable IT systems? At our university, you can not only pass on your knowledge to young talents in this field, but also actively research the topic and thus make an important contribution to the future.

Your tasks:

  • You will contribute your theoretical and practical experience, for example, to the courses on “Computer Architectures” and “Real-Time Systems” in German and English in our Computer Science degree programs (B.Sc./M.Sc.),
  • You will be involved in the basic courses of our Computer Science Bachelor's degree programs, in particular “Introduction to Computer Science” and “Programming”, as well as the research related project modules of our Master's degree programs
  • You will supervise our students in their project, Bachelor's and Master's degrees
  • You will be involved in applied and interdisciplinary research as well as the acquisition of third-party funds, especially in the above-mentioned subject area and initiate/maintain cooperation with practice partners in Germany and abroad
  • You will actively participate in the further development of our department and our university and contribute to its internationalization

Your profile:

  • You have a university degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a comparable subject and a relevant doctorate
  • You have at least five years of professional experience, of which at least three years were outside the university sector or can provide evidence of additional scientific achievements
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of computer architectures and assembly languages
  • You are committed, team-oriented, and enjoy thinking and acting in an international context, as well as interdisciplinary, diversity-sensitive work in teaching and research

In addition following points are desirable:

  • You have initial teaching experience for exapmle teaching assignments or further didactic training
  • You can prove your scientific qualifications through publications at leading international conferences (e.g. IEEE or ACM) and/or journals

In the course of the procedure, you will be asked to submit a teaching and research concept that meets the requirements of the position and the department.

The position is open-ended. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially in a probationary civil servant relationship or in a permanent employment relationship with a three-year probationary period. Further employment requirements and duties are set out in sections 67 - 69, 75 and 76 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (available at the website of the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts -HMWK).
