A post-doc position is vacant at the Department of Applied Psychology: Work, Education, Economy. The position is assigned to the area of “Psychological Research on Education and Transfer”. The working focus of this area is linked to the faculty’s research topic “Promotion of lifelong learning in educational institutions”.
We are looking for a staff member with interest and experience in thematically corresponding research and teaching in the fields of gender differences in educational contexts (esp. with a focus on gender stereotypes), development of motivation, research on interventions, implementation and transfer.

Duration of employment: 6 year/s
Extent of Employment: 40.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Collaboration in research, teaching and administration in the working group “Psychological Research on Education and Transfer”. This includes e.g., methodological and content related supervision of third party funded projects, preparation of (international) publications and being active in presenting own research at scientific conferences, preparation of proposals for research grants, self-reliant examination activities and student supervision, collaboration in evaluation and quality assurance activities, collaboration in administration of the faculty and the institute. Preparation of a (cumulative) postdoctoral lecture qualification is also part of the job description.

Profile:
Very good English and German skills; doctorate or PhD in a relevant field of psychology; excellent knowledge in methods and statistics relevant for the field of psychological research on education ad transfer; working knowledge in qualitative research methods; traceable research experiences in the fields of gender differences in educational contexts (esp. with a focus on gender stereotypes), development of motivation, research on interventions and transfer; relevant experience in teaching, in publicating in scientific journals and in presenting research at international conferences; ability to work in a team, social and project management competences.
Experience in planning, supervising and executing research projects (in the mentioned fields), in preparing relevant publications in peer-reviewed (preferably English) journals and with presentations at international conferences should exist. international collaborations (joint projects) are very welcome. Relevant experience in teaching, excellent English, methodology, and IT skills are expected. In particular, sound knowledge concerning statistical methods and methods for analyzing qualitative data (e.g. MaxQDA) are expected. In addition the applicant should be characterized by social and project management competences and the ability to work in a team.
Knowledge of academic processes and structures - capacity of teamwork - resilience and engagement - proactive - good social skills
