The Department of Computing, Faculty of Technology at the University of Turku is looking for 1-2 (fixed term positions) postdoctoral researchers in the field of health technology.
The work is full-time, although part-time work is possible. The positions are fixed term starting as soon as possible, according to mutual agreement, and ending depending on the project on September 30, 2027 (STIMULUS) or June 30, 2028 (POC4TRIAGE).
The positions are open in two Horizon Europe projects led by the University of Turku. In STIMULUS project (Speckle Technology and Digital Biomarkers of Microvascular Function for Monitoring Cardiovascular Diseases, 1.10.2023 - 30.9.2027), funded by a European Innovation Council Pathfinder grant, we develop new instruments for assessing adverse changes in microcirculatory status linked to hypertension, chronic kidney disease and heart failure, leading to earlier detection of cardiovascular diseases. The instruments are developed and validated in clinical trials. We integrate two state-of-the-art technologies leading to a novel innovation, 3D speckle tissue monitoring.
In POC4TRIAGE project (Point-of-Care Devices for Urgent Care Triage, 1.7.2024 - 30.6.2028), funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), we develop, test, and clinically validate four compact cost- and energy-efficient POC devices for acute care (ambulance, emergency room, intensive care unit). Our Health technology research group develops a new multimodal sensory path for acute monitoring of cardiorespiratory conditions and new high performance real-time AI methods for point-of-care.
