Salary:  £33,966 to £45,585 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are delighted to be seeking to recruit several new colleagues to join the flourishing Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at the University of Nottingham. These new colleagues will join a thoroughly interdisciplinary community of scholars with global perspectives and approaches and contribute to a vibrant and collegial research-led learning environment. Our courses position our world-leading research at the centre of the learning experience and prepare our students to be active and adaptive participants in the increasingly complex and technologized cultural, creative and media environments of the future. 

One of the appointments we are seeking is a Teaching Associate on a fixed-term, full-time basis who will provide teaching at undergraduate level in Media and Screen Studies and provide advice as a member of a teaching team within an established programme of study.

The role holder will have specific responsibility for identifying the learning needs of students and ensure that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives of the undergraduate courses.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in relevant subject areas (e.g. Film and Television/ Screen Studies, Media and Communications Studies, or a related field) and have previous experience of teaching at Higher Education level. You should have detailed knowledge of teaching methods and techniques and growing practical experience of application of teaching skills and techniques to university courses.

This full-time role (36.25 hours) is available on a fixed term contract until 30th June 2024. Arrangements for job share may be considered.
