Historians of the 21st century need to be aware of the specific nature of the digital sources they analyse in their research. Now that we have abundant access to retro-digitised material and born-digital data through the web, the critical assessment of digital resources is a key competence of historical work. The online platform „Ranke2“, developed as an online tutorial for digital source criticism at C2DH, offers animated learning videos, interactive quizzes, and teaching modules with assignments on a variety of genres of sources and topics.
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the platform www.ranke2.uni.lu and its further development (e.g. adding new lessons / topics). S/he will work under supervision of Professor Stefan Krebs. The postdoc will be a member of the Public History Research Unit at C²DH. The C²DH is a research centre for the study, analysis and public dissemination of contemporary history of Luxembourg and Europe with a particular focus on digital methods and tools for doing innovative historical research.
