The University of Luxembourg and ArcelorMittal created the ArcelorMittal Chair of Steel Construction at the University of Luxembourg. To support this Chair, the University is looking for a:
The PhD-student (Doctoral candidate) will work under the guidance of a professor on a research theme and will also contribute to education in a certain extent. She/he should finish the work with a doctoral degree in engineering science.
The ArcelorMittal Chair of Steel construction researches in steel- and steel composite structures and innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact and support a rational use of natural resources in the building and construction sector. Circular reusable structures open scenarios and challenges for a more sustainable buildings that aims to reduce or eliminate its impacts on the environment. This research will work out possible scenario concerning the construction market development and combine it with different building construction typologies - in order to obtain projection scenario for future carbon emissions savings. Routes shall be evaluated to satisfy the green deal targets and guide decision-makers toward more sustainable solutions.
