The Faculty of Law and Criminology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (in Brussels) is offering a full-time position in Labor Law which primarily aims to cover the provision of courses in Belgian Labor Law for a variety of student populations.
Pedagogical and academic objectives of the post :
The post-holder will develop teaching materials which are appropriate to facilitating the acquisition of knowledge on Labor Law, Belgian Labor Law in particular, by students enrolled on a wide range of degree programs. The core course should cater as much for students at undergraduate level as for those at master’s level or indeed those taking a specialized master’s program. Lecture classes may include students of Law alongside students of various other relevant fields in the Human and Social Sciences.
The post-holder will, furthermore, be expected to contribute to the management and development of the specialized master’s program in Labor Law.
The post-holder will supervise both master’s and specialized master’s students in their final dissertations and may be required to co-supervise or supervise doctoral studies, at times in collaboration with colleagues of other disciplines.
The post-holder will be invited to join the Faculty of Law and Criminology’s Research Center on Public Law and therein carry out research in the field of Labor Law. S/he will be expected to play a role in raising the ULB’s profile within Belgian and international networks active in this field thereby increasing the university’s reach in the discipline.
The post-holder will be expected to participate actively in the life of the university and in particular that of the Faculty and the Center to which s/he is connected.

The appointment to the academic staff of ULB is made at “Premier Assistant” level, if the candidate has had a PhD for less than eight years (on 1 October of the year of appointment). If the candidate has had a PhD for eight or more years, on 1 October of the year of appointment, then the appointment is made at ”Chargé de Cours” level. As of their appointment, members of academic staff are authorised to use the honorary title of ”Professeur”.
