The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Soil Biology
at the Institute of Soil Science and Land Evaluation. The position is to be filled by the winter semester 2025/26.
The successful candidate should be able to represent and further develop the field of soil biology in its entirety. In research, the professorship should focus on climate-resilient and resource-efficient agroecosystems, particularly the preservation of soil fertility and biodiversity. Expertise in molecular methods of metagenomics and microbiome research would be beneficial. We are seeking a person with a proven track record of internationally visible research and high-ranking publications in the field who can show proof of their ability to acquire third-party funding. The successful candidate is to contribute to teaching in the soil biology courses that are part of the agricultural science Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the faculty as well as in the faculty’s doctoral study program. Courses are to be offered in both German and English.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.
The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to probationary employment. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with disabilities.
