The Open University Business School differentiates itself though a distinctive practice-based pedagogy, placing the student’s experience at the heart of learning. Our learning materials exploit a wide variety of media facilitated by a network of over 750 part-time Associate Lecturer (AL) colleagues. We are therefore seeking to appoint a new colleague with outstanding team-working skills, creativity and initiative, as well as excellent specialist subject knowledge.
The Open University Business School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Strategy to our vibrant and growing Department for Strategy and Marketing. The Lecturer will participate in a range of teaching activities and have a good research track record and the motivation to maintain a continuing research contribution. Applications would be welcome from candidates with teaching and research experience and interests in ANY area of strategy.
You can expect to contribute to the development of materials for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional learning and development (CPLD) modules in strategy, as well as to interdisciplinary modules as required.
This role may be considered suitable for part time hours (minimum 0.6 FTE), if this is something you are seeking please specify this on your covering letter.
Skills and experience
You will have demonstrated your expertise in research by undertaking a PhD in a relevant field and have at least one publication in a good quality journal (2* or 3* journals), with plans to produce a sustained stream of quality publications.
You will have at least some experience of teaching strategy in an HE environment and either have experience or interest in online teaching.
You will have experience of or potential for engaging effectively with practitioner and academic communities. You will have the potential to supervise doctoral students.
