We are extending an earlier call for applications for the position of associate professor (tenure track -professor) or professor in psychology (sustainable careers and well-being) in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The position is located in the degree program of psychology.
Psychology at Tampere University is located in the unit of Welfare Sciences in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Our research lines focus on 1) social cognition and emotions, 2) work and well-being, 3) environment and well-being, 4) neuropsychological disorders and rehabilitation, 5) developmental psychopathology, trauma, and social interaction, and 6) psychology of health and mental health.

The candidate’s expertise should be related to work and organizational psychology, and he/she should be qualified to teach these subjects extensively. Research expertise should include workers’ and organizations’ well-being. The candidate’s research should provide solutions to current problems and challenges in working life.
The most important criteria for the position are international, high quality research activity and versatile teaching activity.
Associate professor (tenure track -professor)
This position requires fluency in English.
In addition, the following will be considered an advantage:
Initial appointment as an associate professor is for five years and, subject to successful performance, you will become a tenured member of faculty at the end of the first five-year period. You will be supported throughout the five-year period to ease transition to a permanent faculty position.
Should the position be filled as a full professor, it is a permanent position from the start.
A trial period of six months applies to all of our new employees.
Salaries are based on the job demands and employees’ personal performance in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System. The minimum starting salary of an associate professor will range between 4577-5130 EUR/month and of a professor between 5535-6200 EUR/month. Higher salaries may be agreed dependent upon experience and/or performance.
