The research group Dynamic Macroecology studies questions related to spatial ecology, macroevolution and biodiversity conservation. Within its Biodiversa+ project “Harmonizing and integrating Radar-based approaches for monitoring Aerial biodiversity - HiRAD” the group is looking from spring 2024 for the duration of 2 years (with option for 1 year extension) for a

HiRAD is a Biodiversa+ project with partners at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), the Institute for Nature and Forest (Belgium), Agroscope (Switzerland), the Finnish Meteorological Institute (Finland) that will develop standardized monitoring of aerial biodiversity, following earlier work within project GloBAM. Strong quantitative and programming skills (e.g., in R) are required and previous experience with radar aeroecology is an asset. We also expect good communication skills in English, the ability to work independently as well as in a team. HiRAD explicitly encourages close collaboration with other partners and subprojects and supports regular exchange and research visits.
You will be based at WSL in Birmensdorf and will work in collaboration withthe groups named above.
