YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

This Master Thesis topic is focusing on coupling thermal and core loss models of the magnetic component. 

The scope of the project includes following aspects: 

  • Modeling of core loss using electromagnetic FEM simulation. 
  • Analysis and experimental measurements of core losses for different magnetic materials shapes and sizes.  
  • Design of data driven, and analytical models based on the gathered results. 
  • Documentation of research outcomes. 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master student in Electrical Engineering or Physics. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronics (basics of semiconductor devices, power converter topologies and control methods). 
  • Experiences with Matlab/Simulink and power electronic circuit simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, LTspice) is a plus. 
  • Experience with PCB and/or CAD design software is a plus. 
  • Experience with multiphysics simulation and FEM simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, COMSOL) is a plus. 
  • Highly enthusiastic and motivated, willing to learn new technologies. 
  • Self-organized and target-oriented working style. 
  • Good communications skills, fluency in English, both written and spoken.
