The Mathematics Department at Radboud University (RU) in Nijmegen, Netherlands, is expanding in response to increased investment and seeks to appoint two new staff members to broaden and strengthen our expertise in the area of Applied Mathematics (including modelling, data analysis, applied analysis and computation). We welcome applications at all levels ranging from tenure track assistant professor to full professor and particularly encourage female applicants and applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply. We seek active researchers looking to develop their research programmes, who regularly publish articles in top international journals and are also keen to participate in teaching and help develop an applied mathematics track in our Bachelor's and Master's curricula. There is a reduced teaching allocation in the first year for more established researchers and for a longer period for tenure track positions. We encourage and support applications for research grants and you should have the ambition to apply through NWA, NWO, Top Sectoren and Horizon Europe, using your contacts in industry and/or other disciplines. We will help you expand your industrial and interdisciplinary network, also with an eye to providing project opportunities to Bachelor's and Master's students in applied mathematics.
The Mathematics department represents a broad range of areas, including analysis, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, number theory, functional analysis, mathematical physics, non-commutative geometry, special functions and applied stochastics. The department is active in the national mathematical research clusters DIAMANT, GQT and STAR, NDNS+, funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
We want to get the best out of science, others and ourselves. Why? Because this is what the world around us desperately needs. Leading research and education make an indispensable contribution to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. This is what unites the more than 22,000 students and 5,000 employees at Radboud University. And this requires even more talent and collaboration. You have a part to play!
