PIK’s Research Department III Transformation Pathways is seeking a

Research project coordinator (m/f/d)

(Position number: 62-2024 Coordinator Mitigation)

for the EU Horizon project NEWPATHWAYS on international climate policy pathways and the academic scenario work for the Network of Greening the Financial System (NGFS) starting as soon as possible.

The position is funded until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability. Remuneration is in accordance with the German public tariff scheme (TV-L Brandenburg), salary group E 13. This is a full-time position with a weekly working time of 40 hours per week. The position can be filled on a part-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of the EU Horizon project NEWPATHWAYS, supporting the principal investigator Prof. Dr. Elmar Kriegler and the research consortium.
  • Assisting the coordination of the academic consortium for the NGFS, as well as support for other third-party funded projects in the department.
  • Organization of project-related workshops, project meetings and outreach events  
  • Support for the preparation of project deliverables, reports, policy briefs and presentations, in correspondence with project partners and in close coordination with Prof. Dr. Elmar Kriegler and the research team at RD3. 
  • Support for other third-party funded projects in the department, including project application and project acquisition and communication with potential funders. 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree, e.g. in economics, social or natural sciences or a similar field of study
  • Experience in the implementation of research projects and ideally in the acquisition of research projects 
  • Experience in organizing science communication and stakeholder interaction are an asset
  • Experience in working with research administrations and funding organizations is welcome
