About Mascir:

MAScIR is a non-profit association under the auspices of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Created in 2007, it aims to promote and develop technological research clusters in the fields of materials and nanomaterials, biotechnology, microelectronics and life sciences. Its work is geared towards applied research and innovation to meet market needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and demonstration of novel strategies and methodologies for application of functional organic molecules in material science.
  • Use a combination of modern synthetic methods (Microwave, green pathway, free solvents, etc.), and bioresource materials (natural fibers, clays, biomass, etc.) to develop a novel range of materials from nano, molecular and macromolecular structure.
  • A deep understanding of fundamental mechanisms and structure-property relationships
  • Mentor junior researchers associated with the program while collectively achieving program milestones on schedule.
  • Play a key role in maintaining a robust and inclusive safety culture.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals, contribute to scientific research papers, reports, and review articles, and deliver impactful oral reports.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field completed within the last 3 years.
  • Experience with organic synthesis.
  • Experience with materials preparation techniques.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experimental work experience.
  • An excellent record of productive and creative research demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience with or basic understanding of FTIR, NMR, MS, SEM, TEM, and XRD equipment and related analysis.
  • Experience in the preparation and handling of scientific manuscripts, reports, and research posters.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
