Job Description:
The specialist in urban energy networks is responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of energy networks in urban environments. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated specialist to join our research team on urban energy networks management. The selected candidate will work on interdisciplinary projects aimed at understanding and improving energy network management strategies in urban contexts. The focus will be on the integration of renewable energy sources, demand management, and enhancing the resilience of urban networks.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis:
- Conduct original research on energy network management, including the identification, evaluation, and implementation of management strategies in urban environments.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with experts in risk management, urban planning, energy engineering, and other relevant disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
- Modeling and Simulation:
- Use simulation and modeling tools to analyze and optimize urban energy networks.
- Conduct case studies on specific cities to evaluate network performance and propose management strategies.
- Communication and Dissemination:
- Prepare and present reports, scientific articles, and communications for international conferences.
- Participate in workshops and seminars to disseminate research results.
- Project Management:
- Contribute to the management of research projects, including writing funding proposals, coordinating with partners, and monitoring budgets.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Ph.D. in electrical engineering, energy engineering, urban studies, or a related field.
- Experience:
- A solid background in research on urban energy networks, demonstrated by relevant publications and research projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation methods for energy networks.
- Experience with energy network analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Simulink).
- Publications:
- A strong record of publications in international scientific journals.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Languages:
- Proficiency in both English and French, in writing and speaking.
