Job Title: Post-Doctoral position

Area of specialization: Genomics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.

Job/Project description:

The AgroBioSciences Program (AgBS) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a post-doctoral fellow in Genomics and Bioinformatics. We are looking for a postdoctoral to perform generate data in Morocco and Africa related to rhizobia genomic characterization, distribution, diversity, and transmission mechanisms between rhizobia and hostel plants.

Main responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct research as part of the project team.
  • Identification of the isolated strains using 16s RNA and ITS
  • Conduct the whole-genome sequencing experiment of the selected strains.
  • Conduct taxonomy characterization and analysis of selected isolates.
  • Conduct Bioinformatics analysis related to the generated data.
  • Co-supervise master and doctoral student.
  • Publish results in high impact factor journals.

Education, qualifications, and experience

  • Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or equivalent
  • Expertise in bioinformatics pipelines (Illumina, MiseQ, Sanger, etc)
  • Taxonomy analysis, diversity, genotyping, etc.
  • Hands on 16s RNA and ITS sequencing data analysis
  • Publication record in the field
  • Excellent spoken and written English is a requirement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High motivation and interest in scientific work
