Purpose of the Post:

The primary purpose of this post is to teach the undergraduate modules: Business Management and Marketing / Digital Marketing at the Department of Business/ Hospitality /Computing in the Laksamana College of Business.

The lecturer will design, develop and deliver excellent teaching, with specific focus on economics and management for Undergraduate and Foundation students from Business / Accounting / Marketing backgrounds. The lecturer will be also responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Delivering exemplary teaching, assessment and feedback, face-to-face and online, zoom tools
  2. Monitoring students’ attendance, keeping online attendance registers and student records up-to-date and liaising with the administration on students’ issues
  3. Supporting and advising individual students when required and liaison with Head of Departments regarding any students in difficult situation
  4. Developing, improving and innovating new and current modules to ensure the provision remains relevant and meets the objectives of the college as well as Teaching strategy
  5. Setting coursework and exam assessments and providing constructive feedback on assignments within two weeks of the submission deadline. Liaison with second markers and external examiners.
  6. Inputting marks into online moderation of work forms and marksheets
  7. Regular communication with management, administrative staff, IT support and other lecturers
  8. Engage with other module leaders to extend the College’s teaching provision.
  9. Attend at least two teaching meetings per term, plus exam board. Undertake any other necessary trainings and developments mandated by the College.
  10. Any other duties corresponding with the grade of the post directed by the Head of Department

Requirements

Post Holder will be expected to demonstrate the following:

  1. Education

A Master level qualification in a discipline relevant to marketing and management or postgraduate qualifications in education

  1. Experience

Proven excellence in teaching skills and promoting effective learning at university level

Experience in designing and delivering assessments, and giving high-quality feedback on knowledge Experience of curriculum design

Experience in using a virtual learning environment to deliver and support teaching and assessment

  1. Knowledge

Subject-specific expertise in disciplines relevant to economics and management Excellent IT skills, with Microsoft Office 365, Moodle, MS Teams and Zoom Knowledge of higher education practices and quality assurance procedures 

  1. Skills & Abilities

Aptitude for building effective relationship with students and staff Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to deliver module to the specifications and to deadline Knowledge of blended learning environments

Working Conditions

The Marketing and Management Lecturer works in a classroom setting, with occasional research and administrative duties outside of the classroom. The position may require occasional evening and weekend work.
