Job description

The overall aim of this postdoc position is to conduct research about new types of timber and timber-based hybrid structures. You will be particularly responsible for gaining new knowledge for the development and design of effective connection technology with plywood gusset plates. One of the challenges involves expanding the application of such timber-based structures also for outdoor use. The current research group is focused on larger timber structures with medium and long spans, e.g. bridges, halls, towers, etc.. The research group's expertise includes both structural engineering and materials technology, especially regarding wood-based components and systems, but also production technology and processing aspects such as workability and mountability, as well as disassembly.
