Microsoft 365 Security Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Microsoft 365 Security Specialist to lead and enhance the security posture of the M365 ecosystem within imec.

What you will do

As a Microsoft 365 Security Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our Microsoft 365 environment. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving M365 security solutions, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of imec information in our digital workplace. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Microsoft 365 Security Management:
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of security measures across the Microsoft 365 suite (including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID). 
  • Configure, manage, and monitor Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Microsoft Purview solutions. 
  • Identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with security policies, partner requirements, and regulations. 
  • Optimize identity and access management (IAM) within Microsoft Entra ID, focusing on conditional access, MFA, and privilege management. 
  • Develop and enforce policies for data classification, protection, and governance through Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MIP) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). 
  • Collaborate with IT operations and security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and security threats within the M365 environment. 
  • Conduct risk assessments and support vulnerability management processes. 
• Policy and Training: 
  •  Develop and implement Microsoft 365 security policies and best practices across departments. Provide training and guidance to staff on M365 security awareness, tools, and processes. 
  • Stay updated with the latest M365 security trends, advancements, and Microsoft product innovations.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security, with hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 security solutions. 
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, Microsoft Defender Suite, and Entra ID security. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across IT and business teams.
