At the earliest possible date, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Semiconductor Physics, is seeking to fill a full-time position as a

Research Assistant – Post-Doc (m/f/x)

(100 %, pay group 13 TV-L)

to be filled for a limited period of three years. Selection is based on suitability, aptitude and professional performance. Chemnitz University of Technology endeavors to promote women in particular and therefore expressly asks qualified women to apply. In principle, the job is also suitable for part-time employment. Temporary employment is subject to the provisions of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG) and the Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz (SächsHSG) as amended.

Fields of activity

  • Research in the field of semiconductor physics, in particular spectroscopic characterization of surfaces and interfaces, ultra-thin films and low-dimensional systems
  • Supervision of PhD, Master and Bachelor students
  • Planning and conducting scientific research
  • Publishing research results
  • Performing teaching tasks

You will use your research results for scientific publications and your own qualification. This is a position for further academic qualification.

If you are interested in working in an interdisciplinary, highly motivated team and the academic examination of a topic of high practical relevance, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Completed scientific university degree in the field of physics, or comparable disciplines, which gives access to the appropriate qualification level
  • Knowledge of optical spectroscopy methods (Raman, spectroscopic ellipsometry) and nanospectroscopy (TERS, Nano-IR) is an advantage
  • Completed doctorate

You must also fulfill the recruitment requirements according to § 73 SächsHSG.
