The Department of Decision Sciences of Bocconi University in Milan, invites applications for a

Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Statistics, with a focus on research topics in all areas of Statistics, Machine Learning and Probability.

The appointment will begin in Fall 2025. We seek strong candidates in any field of Statistics, Machine Learning and Probability.

The position will be based at the Department of Decision Sciences, which comprises Faculty with research interests in Statistics and Data Science, Machine Learning, Probability, and Mathematical Analysis. The Department also hosts a 4-year PhD program in Statistics and Computer Science, jointly with the Computing Sciences Department. The tenure-track Assistant Professor will also be affiliated to the Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics, which is Bocconi’s hub for theoretical and applied research on data-driven problems. 

Qualifications

Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. and demonstrate high research potential.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a publication record of the highest standards, broadly contribute to the academic life of the department and be effective teacher both at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Compensation and teaching load will be competitive with other top European Schools.
