POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN REAL ESTATE ECONOMICS
The position is at Real Estate Economics Research Group in the Department of Built Environment (https://www.aalto.fi/en/department-of-built-environment) in the research group led by Assistant Professor Heidi Falkenbach.
The position is directly linked to the research project “Outcomes of land policy in real estate markets” funded by Academy of Finland, and the candidate will be working in the subproject evaluating the effects of public land policy on real estate markets. The project builds on earlier research conducted by Heidi Falkenbach and her research team (see. e.g. Valtonen et al. 2017; Valtonen et al, 2018, Oikarinen et al. 2015). In this project, the emphasis is on the quantitative evaluation of the linkages between public land policy and housing market outcomes.
An appointee to the position of post-doctoral researcher must hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g. economics, real estate). The doctoral degree must have been obtained within the last three years from the application deadline (some exceptions for special grounds, for instance sick leave and parental leave are possible). The candidate should have very good theoretical and practical knowledge in the field and have the ability to conduct independent scientific research. The candidate should have the proven capability to publish in scientific journals and have excellent analytical and methodological skills. The project in question requires good command especially in panel data methods and time-series analysis. The position will require scholarly publishing, interaction with the interest groups as well as participation in the teaching in the Master’s Programme in Real Estate Economics (max 10% of working time).
