Research Fellow in Li-S State Estimation
(Fixed Term contract until 31 July 2018)

£31,620 to £35,244 per annum

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship, working on an exciting new electric air vehicle project using lithium-sulfur batteries.  This project is funded by the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), and is being undertaken with partners from the aerospace industry and the battery industry.  The project will involve the development of Kalman-derived state estimation algorithms for the real-time deployment in a technology demonstrator.  The research fellow will be expected to contribute to the design, development and demonstration of the system, and to work closely with our industrial and research partners.  The research fellow will also be expected to help mentor PhD and MSc students working in the group.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline or be close to completion and have prior experience of state estimation using Kalman-derived estimators or similar, and have prior experience of hybrid or electric vehicle architecture.
